An experimental study on the mobility of droplets in liquid-liquid Taylor flows within circular capillaries

چکیده
Further development of microfluidics devices that reply on liquid-liquid droplet flows, requires a thorough understanding the parameters influencing velocity. This study provides greater insights into this subject through an analysis effecting mobility in such flows. A novel, fully automated experimental setup was designed to accurately measure velocity and length. Measurements were performed over wide range Capillary number (2×10?4 3.7×10?2), Bond (0.05 3.2) carrier dispersed viscosity ratio (0.059 23.2) while also varying Five different fluid combinations examined within circular capillaries with inlet diameters ranging from 555?m 1.70mm. Results reveal complex relationship between length, number. In all cases, as length exceeds threshold value, becomes independent is shown scale ? Ca0.5. As falls below threshold, faces changeover zone which initially declines then rises by further increase For shorter droplets, higher numbers cause phase travel asymmetrically respect channel centre line substantially impacts these droplets.
